BLUE EARTH COUNTY
CIVIL WAR CEMETERY PROJECT
This project involves recording Civil War veterans buried in Blue Earth County for our database and the restoration of illegible, broken, or missing Civil War gravestones.
We have partnered with Matt Mickelson of Headstone Revival, LLC to begin the work of cleaning CW headstones. Matt uses the same hand-cleaning and restoration method as approved by National Cemetery Association and is used in Arlington National Cemetery.
This is an ongoing preservation effort that shows respect and honor for the fallen Civil War soldiers buried in Blue Earth County. Their legacy will continue to live on through this project, however the project requires funding to accomplish its goals. Would you consider helping us? The project can only move forward as funds are raised. Click here for a printable donation form.
